to buy the large container of pre-cut lettuce from Costco! It's hard enough at times for me to eat right and just being able to take my salad straight out of the fridge makes it that much more likely that I'll do it. Screw the extra cost! I'm worth it!!!! ;)

A Pretty Good Day!

I got up, got my tuckus out to the garage and walked! Yay!!! I'm pretty sure I'm not going to lose six pounds in the next four days so my goal won't be reached on time but I'm still going to reach it!

Just Checking In...

to say that while I haven't been hitting the treadmill very hard (or at all some times) I've been pretty good with eating and I'm at 160 right now. :) Drinking lots of water has helped!

We've got house guests for Spring Break and I went on a walk/jog with my SIL and now I have some serious shin-splints. Yikes! I'm doing my best to eat right while they are here but we are dining out A LOT and it's hard.

Send will power, STAT! LOL!

I started Week 2 of the C25K workout over again and the last 30 seconds of each running segment really required me to suck it up. LOL! But, I did! Go, me!

I also did my stretching and my floor exercises.

March is the New January!

Well, first things first. I weighed in on Saturday and I'm at 161.4, so I've gained two pounds. I'm actually pretty okay with this as I haven't worked out in ages and I went to a crop over the long President's Day weekend. I left Thursday afternoon and didn't get back until Monday morning.

There was snacking involved! LOL! I was actually pretty good, I ate salads for lunch every day up there and tried to keep the snacking to a decent level. Oh, and I stopped at Burgerville on the way up. Cheeseburger basket, baby! :)

Anyway, my shin splints are completely gone and I'm going to hop back on the treadmill in the morning. I'm planning on running my C25K workouts on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday and walking for 30 minutes on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. I'll still take Sunday's off.

I'm also going to have salads for dinner as well as lunch but only about every other day. I'm hoping this will be enough to help me lose seven pounds before April 4th, Audrey's second b-day!

Well, poop.

:) Sorry I didn't post this weekend.

I weighed in on time though! 159.2 Better than I expected. I was a bit afraid that I'd have popped back up into the 160's!

I haven't set foot on the treadmill. :( My right shin is super ticked off at me and my left one is a tiny bit peeved. I'm going to give them both a nice long break. I've got a scrappy retreat coming up this weekend, and I'm not going back on that treadmill until I get back.

So, nothing other than floor exercises and Pilates until a week from Tuesday. I'm hoping I actually get off my tuckus enough to do that much. I leave on this trip on Thursday, hopefully in the afternoon. And, I'm so not packed! LOL!

I hope you're doing better than I! And, I'll see you when I get back if not before!

Kinda nervous!

I'm pretty sure tomorrow's not going to be a good weigh in day. I was pretty bad Super Bowl weekend and I've only worked out once this week.

I got the book Chi Running, because I'd heard good things about it and how it helps people run injury free. Well, all I got from Chi Running was Chi Shin Splints. Fail! :(

I think I'll just be walking on my treadmill for a while now. And, I need to be walking every day and when I get back to running, I need to walk on my "off days". Sunday needs to be my only off day. It is really easy for me to get lazy. :)

Check back tomorrow for my latest weigh in and a quick report on how walking with shin splints goes.

If it goes poorly, I may have to take a week off. I hate shin splints! :p

Week 5 Weigh In & Feb's Photos

Hey guys! I weighed in this morning and I'm holding steady at 159.2. I've been eating well, just snacking too much. That's so my downfall. :(

I also took my pics on the 2nd so here they are!


I think I look a little slimmer in the midsection but it's hard to tell. Six pounds just ain't that much! Note to self, smiling definitely helps and maybe try a little make-up next time. LOL!

I'm going to admit that I'm having a rough time heading out to the treadmill today. Just not feelin' it. I'm going to have to up my motivation level somehow! Just not sure how. Any ideas???

The Old Standby...

of putting out your stuff ahead of time. It really works! I did my Pilates workout and I feel so good about it. :)

Mickey did some of it with me too. He needs his own mat though, he was really upset that I wouldn't give him one of mine. I've got two yoga mats stacked on top of each other because pilates mats are thicker (to protect your spine) and I don't want to hurt myself. So, I'll be searching for a mat for my little exercise buddy!

I'm trying to be really good diet wise this week because Sunday is the Superbowl and I want to have a all day scrap-a-thon with lots of semi healthy and not so healthy treats! I've already got a bag of Pirate's Booty stashed just for the occasion! :D

Checkin' In!

I did my second C25K workout and I still like it! My next running workout is Tuesday and I haven't decided if I'm going to extend week one so that my training weeks coincide with my weigh in weeks or if I'm going to start week two on Thursday. I'll probably wait and see how I feel after Tuesday. If I'm all gung ho, I'll start week two, otherwise I'll do two more week one workouts.

Oh, and I've said it before but I'm going to add in Pilates on MWF. Before I go to bed tonight, I'm setting out my stuff so it's really easy to do. Hopefully, that works because just saying it didn't do it for me last time. LOL!

159.2!!! Whee! I'm back in the 150's, baby! :)

Gettin' Back on the Horse!

Yep, hopped back on the treadmill this morning! I think the problem last week was that I was supposed to add in another day and it just wasn't working with my schedule. I like running in the morning before Mickey has preschool and I like the fact that I only have to run one day on the weekends. So, I'm dumping my old work out schedule and I'm picking a new one.

Yep, I'm fickle! LOL!

So, which schedule am I picking? Well, the Couch to 5K one, of course! Since I'd really like to run a 5K this summer, it's a logical choice. I'm actually going to use the Treadmill Version. I'll print out each week and post it where I can see it from the treadmill.
I also think I need to be drinking more water. I have a real hard time with that in the winter. I'm sooooo cold blooded that drinking ice water just doesn't sound like fun right now. LOL! My mom drinks hot water sometimes but....blech! I'm so not doin' that! So, I'm just going to have to suck it up and put on some fuzzy socks and a sweatshirt! LOL!

Lost the Mojo!

Wow! I've been slackin'! I just haven't gotten my tuckus out to the treadmill yet and I really, really need to!

I did reweigh myself and I was right at 160.4 so that makes me feel a bit better but I really need to find a calendar/notebook and start planning out stuff so that even when I lack motivation, I still have some guidelines to keep me working out!

Bad Erica, No Pizza!

Well it was weigh in time this morning and I completely forgot! So, it was after breakfast and a snack and a Mt. Dew that I finally hopped on the scale.

164.0, not good.

Part of it, I'm sure, is the time of day but the rest I'm going to have to attribute to pizza last night, only two workouts this week and getting what I thought was a healthy meal when we were out only to get something deep-fried and covered in cheese set in front of me. :(

So, to combat this, I'm going to be hitting the salads a lot harder next week and I am going to add in Pilates. I was only debating it before but now it's a necessity. So, tonight I'm going to sit down and figure out my schedule for next week.

I hope this helps, I was getting used to the numbers going down, not up!

I hope this works!

Blogger hasn't been very happy with me lately! I tried to post the other night and it just wasn't happening. And then, my laptop got some weird virus. Sigh. No fun!

Okay, so to working out. I've only worked out once this week. Yikes! I really need to work out tomorrow so before I go to bed tonight, I'm going to layout my workout gear. That should get me out there.

Diet-wise, I haven't been doing very well either. I need to drink more water so I don't munch so much.

It's not going to be fun getting on the scale on Saturday!

I'm not too upset because I spent some time with family instead and lately, life has shown me that family is precious and should be taken care of when they are in need.

Week 2 Weigh In!!!

Yay!!! 160.4!!! :) Five pounds in two weeks! Oh, and I realized that the wording of my Resolution is to lose the baby weight not to lose 20 lbs. So, I'm actually about six pounds from my Resolution! Hee!!! I still want to lose the full amount, but it's more fun to have little steps.

I think when I get to 154 (the baby weight) my reward will be to spend the $50 Michael's gift card I got from my dad for Christmas. That's a fun, inexpensive, non-food related reward. Hee!

I'm going to try to get a pic of me in the morning. Hopefully, the hubby can help me out with this. I'd like to get a pic of me every two weeks but my camera was acting really funny today. It wouldn't auto focus! I'm hoping it was just the low light. :(

Well, I'm off to bed. I've got a work out in the morning!

Looking Forward to Tomorrow Morning!

It's my weigh in time tomorrow and I'm pretty excited, for kind of a dumb reason. I've been really pretty good with my eating and I've done all my running/walking this week.

Oh, and I got really sick last night and was up until four in the morning. Nothin' like a stomach bug to help you lose weight! :::eyeroll::: I am glad it happened after my last workout for the week because I'm not so nuts that I'll work out when I'm that sick. :)

So, I'm kind of looking forward to that little extra boost in my weight loss that last night will give me. Although, next week, when I gain all that water weight back, is another story! :D

This Week So Far...

I've gotten in two workouts in this week, right on schedule. Yay!!! Right now I'm working out three days a week (Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday) walking four minutes and jogging for one. I finally found my iPods and I want to get started on loading a fun workout mix but I haven't made the time for it yet. Hopefully, that will get done this week. :)

I want to get another picture of me on Saturday but it's going to be a super busy day. I've got to go pick up 30 lbs of ground beef in the morning and then I have a baby shower in the afternoon. Also, Andrew will be gone most of the day so unless I time it right, I'm going to have to do another tripod set up. Blech! My tripod is a cheapo one and very lightweight and so I have a really hard time getting portrait oriented shots with it. Also, my focusing sucks! LOL!

Whoo-hoo! I'm at 162.0! :D Yay! I'm so glad I showed a loss this first week because normally my first two weeks, I lose nothing and then bam!, I lose five pounds all at once! Kinda cool but mainly frustrating. :)

Today's Workout

I did my workout today and the kids behaved! LOL!

Our washer broke yesterday and actually the timing is good because I'm not scheduled to work out again until Sunday so we have a few days to get a replacement before I need to wash my work out clothes. Hee! Otherwise, it's off to Granny's to borrow her washer.

I think I'm going to add in two days a week of Pilates when I don't run and make sure I do my floor exercises because I didn't today. Ooops!

Quick Update for Yesterday!

Just wanted to let you all know that I did get the rest of my workout in yesterday! I got the kids and Andrew set up with dinner and then zipped out to the garage and finished before Andrew had to leave for bowling.

No working out today scheduled and I've been okay with eating. I've got another treadmill workout for tomorrow and I'm hoping to find one of my three iPods before them. They've all disappeared! I want to load my iPod with Top 40 hits from my second year at OSU. That's the last time I was really into running and the music at that time really helped!

Brrrr!!!

It is sooooo cold today! Even the garage was super chilly while I was walk/jogging. I only got about half my workout done before Miss Thing had a fit about Mickey's old trike so I'm hoping to get the last of my workout in once Andrew gets home.


Here are the shoes I wound up getting yesterday. Cute, huh? I have to admit I was a little worried that I'd end up with ugly shoes but just my luck, out of all the ones that fit my neutral, slightly high arched feet the best were the cutest ones! They hug my skinny heels like a glove.

I've been doing pretty well on my eating today and I'm hoping it warms up soon because the colder I am, the more I want to eat. Anyone else feel like that?

Hello there!

Hey all, this is my new blog just to keep track of my weight loss/fitness/running effort this year. It's more of an online journal than anything else. :)

So, here we go!

My starting weight is 165.4, I purchased a new scale that shows me tenths! LOL! Here are a couple of (hopefully) before shots. I look much better in profile, you can tell I put all my weight on in my midsection. LOL!

I'm following the beginner program in the book No Need for Speed. I am skipping the first two weeks that are just walking 20 minutes at a time because I have been walking 30 minutes.

Today, I did my first workout! 25 minutes on the treadmill, walking 5 minutes and then jogging 30 seconds. I felt pretty darn good afterwards and wasn't struggling at all during the jogging. Go me! I also did my floor exercises to keep my abs and back strong.

My goals with this are to lose 20 lbs and to run a 5K this summer. Tomorrow, I'm heading out to a real running store to buy my first real pair of running shoes. I'm really hopeful that this will prevent the shin splints and knee issues that have curtailed my efforts in the past. I really want to do this the right way this time around. :)
